Canada’s Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Routliffe received the opening doubles match on the WTA Finals

Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe defeated Taiwan’s Hao-Ching Chan and Russia’s Veronika Kudermetova 7-6 (6), 6-4 of their opening spherical match on Sunday on the WTA finals.
The season-ending event options the highest eight ladies’s doubles groups on the WTA Tour.
Dabrowski, of Ottawa, and Routliffe saved set level within the opening tiebreaker.
The 2 runners-up went on to defeat their seventh-placed opponents in a single hour and 55 minutes.
Spherical-robin play continues till Thursday.
The ultimate is scheduled for Saturday.
