Canada’s Denis Shapovalov claims the Belgrade Open in straight units
Denis Shapovalov gained the Belgrade Open in Serbia on Sunday, defeating Hamad Medjedovic 6-4, 6-4 for the Canadian’s first ATP victory since 2019.
Shapovalov, from Richmond Hill, Ont., had 13 aces to the Serb’s three and saved two break factors en path to his second singles victory. His different win was on the Stockholm Open 5 years in the past.
Ranked 78th on this planet, the 25-year-old was handed his title by No. Medjedovic is presently ranked 156th.
